SPU is looking for volunteers to help at the Doris Heritage Distance Festival. The greatest need is for field event helpers (rakers, retrievers, etc.)
It’ll be at the same historic home stadium. But come March, one of the longest-running track meets in the Pacific Northwest will have a new home team – and a new name – when Seattle Pacific serves as host to the Doris Heritage Distance Festival. Formerly the Club Northwest Spring Break Open, the meet is set for Saturday, March 26, at West Seattle Stadium, which has been its traditional venue. All college and university teams from around the Northwest will be invited. The records from the Spring Break meet will carry over into this one.
The meet will take on a distance carnival format. Top sections in races 800m and longer will have pacesetters. Sprint events will be limited to the 200m, 400m, and 4x400m relay. All field events except triple jump, discus, and hammer will be offered.
