There are usually six races each season – two road races, two cross country races, a track race, and a finale where runners with at least three times in the first five races are given a “handicap” start time.  As a result of Covid-19, our series will look a little different this year. We will be running at five races instead of six and least some of the races virtually. We will be following health recommendations and guidelines in determining when we are able to safely put on the events in-person. Four of the races will be scored, so to be eligible for a prize, you must run four races.

Season pass holders make sure to bring reuse your bib and bring it to each race!!!

You must register online at least 24-hours before each event!

Each division has a male and a female section.  Additional divisions for adults may be split into 5-year categories if entries warrant.  This has been the case for several divisions since 2014, and has been made permanent for those divisions which historically have had ten or more entries.

DIVISION SCORING

Standings are posted after races 3 and 4, and seed times for the finale are posted as soon as we can figure them out.  Check out the results page for tons of years of history.

All runners in each division, not including single race entrants, are ranked and awarded points, with 10 for first, 9 for second, down to 1 for tenth.  One point is also given to all finishers in that division not in the top ten.

You must finish four races to score.  If you run more than four races, your best four point totals count toward your standings.  A perfect score is 40, and we are continually devising special ways to embarrass – err, honor – someone so dominant in their division!  For 2020-2021, there will be a medal (available at Super Jock N Jill, Green Lake) for those who participate in ALL FIVE RACES!

In the case we have to apply tie-breakers, the winner would be the person who runs more races.  If still tied, the winner would be the runner with a higher place in a fifth race or in the fifth and sixth races combined.  We generally don’t have to go beyond those tie-breakers.  And if we have prizes laying around, we don’t break them at all — we just give out duplicate awards!

Please note: after each race 4 and 5, it becomes apparent that some people will not or did not run and finish (and/or turn their card in!) for the minimum four races.  At that point, we remove them from the races they did run, and re-score the division for that race.  Points can change wildly toward the end of the season.  Also, even if you are the only person in your division, you must finish four races to claim a prize.

SPECIAL RACE THEMES!

We do not have any special themes this year, but we are donating $150 to the high school with the most runners-this includes current or past team members, coaches, or parents. You will be asked during registration for your team affiliation, so make sure you put your team.
