Hi everyone,

Our next field trip long run will be on Sunday, May 14 at the Cross Kirkland Corridor starting at the South Kirkland Park and Ride. This run is on Mother's Day, so we will be celebrating all of the moms of Club Northwest! Family members are welcome to join in on the fun.

This run is extra special because Alison and Mark Mandi will be hosting us for a post run brunch! Thank you Alison and Mark! The run will start and end at their home near the trail at 5518 114th Ave NE, Kirkland, Wa 98033.

Features of this route:

  • Gravel, totally flat and I'm serious out and back trail so you can go as long as you want!
  • Unlimited parking because it begins at the park and ride
  • Facilities: Bathrooms at the Google campus and pickleball courts if you want to stop for a quick mid-run game

Logistics

  • Parking: In the empty lot near Alison and Mark Mandi's house at 5518 114th Ave NE, Kirkland, Wa 98033. We will run to the trail from their house.
  • Start time: 8:30am
  • Route: Out and back on Corridor, however far you want. It eventually ends and turns into Juanita, so that's when you may want to turn around.
  • Transportation: Please carpool if possible! There are also several transit options to get to the park and ride. Check our FB group for carpooling or reach out to Claire Wendle or Madeline Westerhoff if you need a ride.
  • Food: Moms are welcome to send Mother's Day treat requests. Mark promised to make pancakes!
  • Drinks: Water, chocolate milk (dairy + non-dairy)
  • Please RSVP to this event so we know how much food to get and how many people to expect!

What are field trip long runs?

This is a social long run that happens every 4-6 weeks, where we meet at a scenic, soft-surface location near Seattle. Post-run food and drinks provided. Mitch helped to start this event during COVID with the goal of creating opportunities to socialize with each other and experience the amazing scenery we have around Western Washington.

Why should I come?

Long runs are better together! Enjoy the energy of running with a big group, the scenery outside of Green Lake and the Burke-Gilman Trail, soft surfaces, and doughnuts! Friends-of-CNW members welcome.

What can I contribute?
